New LED light technology could change the way you see

By | October 22, 2005

An accidental discovery, this new form of lighting that uses “nano-dots” that glow extremely brighter than even their light source. These new fangled bulbs could last for nearly 50,000 hours and are twice as bright as a normal 60 Watt traditional light bulb. The application of the “nano-dots” consists of mixing the dots with a Polyurethane and then using the result just as you would paint.

Potentially, this could be used to create light sources out of just about any paintable surface. Think about an entire ceiling that lights up rather than that bare bulb your used to.

The MSNBC story is here.
