RSS Metaphorically explained

By | October 20, 2005

Everyone, even Microsoft, has been trying to find the best way to explain RSS feeds and to make them more mainstream. I absolutely love my “Web Clips” on Google Desktop, and MS wants to call them WebFeeds. There are tons of different RSS feed aggregators, some like the other one that I run that make a ticker across the bottom of my screen. None of this explains what an RSS feed really is or what its all about. Most of us tech savvy types understand it and have embraced it and love it.

If you want to figure it all out, Tom over at WebFeed Central gives it a pretty good go with a metaphor. Read the post and tell him what you think. I think it’s pretty close to the right line.
