Professional Gaming league gets funding

WSJ.com (via slashdot) is reporting that Major League Gaming has received $10 million in funding to help with it’s efforts to become a professional sports league.  Holy Buckets!  I knew there was money in the industry, but a professional league of gamers?

I’m sure that there are some people out there that think this is a great idea.  I can only force myself to agree if it develops into more of a standards body than a NFL or NBA like entity.  The implications are impressive though.  Think about the Jocks at your local college being usurped by the top draft pick for the MLG.  Maybe even actual League advocated teams…
