Second Day of NaNoWriMo

By | November 2, 2006

What is that?  National Writing month… 50,000 words (aprox 175 pages) in the month of Nov.  If you haven’t yet heard, Shane and I have decided to work together on this and co-author a novel.

Why?  Well partly, it is something we have apparently both tried and tried to do on our own.  I know I have personally started and scrapped about 4-5 book attempts in the past couple of years.  Our idea is, together we can bounce ideas off of each other and encourage each other to make constant progress towards our goal.  This writing contest just really comes around at a convienient time.  It is an added inspiration to keep going.  Will we hit the goal of writing 50k words this month?  I think it is quite possible.  We are already into the meat of the first chapter… and it is growing in size and momentum.

Co-authoring something is always an interesting time… eventually we will hit a spot where we differ in what we think should happen next.  However, I am confident that we will be able to sail right through it.   So far the different ideas have been great for creating something new and different.

I will continue to do updates this whole month on our progress and possibly some excerpts.
